Our Doctors

Dr. Jennifer DeMeo

Dr. Jennifer DeMeo attended Cook College, Rutgers University where she earned her bachelor of science in Animal Science/Preveterinary Medicine, graduating with honors. While at Cook, she was a member of the Rutgers University Equestrian Team. She earned her DVM at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

During her 8 years of practice, Dr. DeMeo has developed a love for both surgery and medicine. She will treat your pet as if it is her own and work with you towards developing the best care and treatment protocol for your pet whether he/she is well or very ill.

Dr. DeMeo's own pets include 2 Labrador Retrievers and 4 cats, three of whom have only one eye (pictures coming soon!). In her spare time Dr. DeMeo is an avid swing dancer and has placed in local swing dance contests. She enjoys listening to big band music from the 40's to neo-swing. Dr. DeMeo is an active member and officer of the Atlantic Highlands Lions Club. If you are interested in joining this great, philanthropic group that helps people with vision problems and blindness as well as helping local people with impairments and other local service organizations and schools, let her know and she will invite you as a guest to one of their bi-monthly meetings.

Dr. Amy M. Lesniak

Dr. Amy Lesniak is a graduate of the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Distinction from the College of Agriculture at the University of Delaware, where she majored in Animal Science and double-minored in Biology and Chemistry.

Dr. Lesniak favorite part of owning the hospital is the close connection she is able to develop with each patient and, just as importantly, with their owners.  She loves that she gets the chance to really know our families, and she values open communication and client education.  Her hope is to guide owners toward making the decisions that are right for their pets as well as for themselves.

Dr. Lesniak and her husband Jeff share their home with three cats, Frannie, Peanut, and Spencer--Andy the yellow lab, and Linus the cockatiel. Outside of work, Dr. Lesniak's two passions are baseball and travel.  Luckily, the two work well together, which means she spends much of her free time traveling locally, nationally, and even internationally to see as many teams play as possible.  Though her first love is the New York Yankees, Dr. Lesniak has developed a deep fondness for minor league baseball, and she and her husband are always on the lookout for new teams to visit.  They have even traveled to Japan to see Japan League baseball!

Dr. Lesniak is also an avid Trekkie; her dream job would be to serve as a science officer on the USS Enterprise.  She loves to read, primarily historical fiction and fantasy, as well as nonfiction and baseball history.  Her favorite book is "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH", which she has read more times than she can count, followed closely by the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
